If “Ageless” equals “Fearless”Published: 2020-07-07 05:44
A gaze, a crack in the tone of voice, a body movement.
Every part of us can communicate, especially when we are afraid.
Fear is a great engine, a powerful emotion. As the word itself says, it puts lots of things into motion.
Due to agitation we happen to take wrong decisions, make mistakes or disclose part of our intimate weaknesses. But I believe there´s something charming about showing our vulnerable side.
Talking has the magic power of making us accept our fragility by giving it a shape and liberate us.
Speak your heart, your mind. Never feel ashamed!
All our fears are human and common to somebody else. By saying it out loud, you will always find someone to relate to.
When we grow older we usually become better at handling apprehensions, despite new fears can step into our lives.
But when we are young we tend to ignore topics that look frightful or that we have never considered as relevant to us. Probably because we are not able to relate, or maybe we don´t experience a similar case close to us. But thanks to digital progress and tools to browse information, we can come across and be lead to reflections about different life phases and their challenges.
We can easily find out how close to us some realities and issues are.
In the occasion of the World Continence Week, Essity has gathered some real stories and embroidered them into precious articles that reveal human weaknesses and touching behaviors that arise from them.
A special one is about the Ageless campaign recently launched by our colleagues who challenge human stigmas every day with bravery.
A group of real women in their 50´s who experience bladder leakage decided to undress their souls in front of a global audience and show their bodies without fear.
Almost half of the interviewed women in this age range state that they have never been so confident as at present. And thanks to this feeling a slice of these women took part to this campaign with the goal of changing the public perception about ageing and incontinence. They embody the possibility of feeling sensual despite some so-called social stigmas and they want to share their stories with the world to help breaking taboos through Essity´s support.
“I will be me”
This is for sure the most striking motto I want to take away from this campaign, as it´s able to stun and awake deep thoughts.
And if “ageless” equals “fearless”, the formula paves the way to a victorious result that has the sounds of freedom.
These women are not simply showing how a feeling can be ageless, but also representing an impressive model of how we can be fearless.
What does “being ageless” mean to you?
