I’m Spider-man or ”sourcing process analyst job” explained to my kid

My Life at Essity blogs will take a small brake and come back with a brand new format. And before this reborn I needed to reveal this secret. I am Spider-man. Well, I’m not exactly THE Spider-man, but as all kids know, there is not only one Santa. There is THE Santa, who lives somewhere close to the north pole, and there are his team buddies, that we can see in the streets and the stores around Christmas. And as I’m currently not flying in the middle of New-York’s skyline, we can assume that I belong to the second category.

As sourcing process analyst, I’m not fighting the villains in order to save the Big Apple. But as him, I do my best to help everybody in their everyday problems, in the sourcing area, for the greatest good. And making the jobs of others easier is not always easy. But I’m not alone, we’re a real team of Spider-men. Our league is called the ”sourcing analyst network”

Sometimes, our role is changing people habits, by implementing new ways of working. And they can be reluctant to this, as it can seem useless and inefficient for them to change. In such case using pedagogy can help them to get an upper view of the sourcing area in its globality, and see how changing tiny things on their daily life can have a great impact on the entire sourcing community.

Sometimes it’s resolving issues that I don’t master myself. But as helping them is my duty, I need to check in my spider web, if one of the wires bring me to someone else who has the precious knowledge. And we can be sure, in such case, that being in touch with other super heroes is crucial for the success of the mission. This is why as sourcing process analyst, it is important to dive deeper in your colleagues knowledge, you need to know their areas of expertise, their tastes, what excites and motivates them. Because their talents will be sooner or later needed somewhere else in the organization. And the wider your spider web is, the more possibilities to solve problems you have.

I’ve never been a super social person, I enjoy spending time alone, mostly deep in the forest running, but I can see in my everyday job the importance of socialization. How exchanging and learning about people is valuable for an organization. And I’m glad that nowadays, we have all those digital tools that allow us to follow this path with such agility. Corona didn’t have such a big impact on my daily tasks, as most of my contacts were already out of Lilla Edet’s office. It’s just that the center of the web is now located at home.

And now Ewow pilot is beginning in Nordic Area. Big event. I can hear screams of fear, and for sure a lot of situations to solve in perspective. All the super heroes are called for reinforcement and we’ll answer to this call, because as you know, my uncle once said: ”with great power comes great responsibility”.
